It has been over two years that I quit the rat-race. Since then life is a bit in slow-motion. I mostly have time for doing things, to travel slowly and to engage with my family, kids and friends. I try out new things, then leave them if I do not like them anymore, without compulsion to pursue a thing or another.
Recently I was on a trip to India and visited areas of Rishikesh, Haridwar, Tehri and Dhanolti, away from the chaos of a big city like Delhi (and its surroundings) where I spent first few days. During my walks in the mountains I felt immense joy. I could smell the fresh and cool wind blowing throw the valley, witnessed the simple life in the mountains and heard sound of the water flowing in the river Ganges coming from the glaciers. Cherry on the cake was the nice food.
I feel at peace with basic things in life. New car, new home, fancy electronics, watches and clothes do not excite me at all. The thing I missed the most was my family.
Wonderful! I can see the joy and content in these few lines.
